Question 1.
Why do the courtiers call the prince ‘the Happy Prince’? Is he really happy? What does he see all around him?

Ans: When he was alive, he was a prince and had never known sorrow or suffering. So, the courtiers called him "the Happy Prince." But he wasn’t truly happy, as his heart could feel the suffering of the poor people around him. He saw how miserable their lives were.

Question 2.
Why does the Happy Prince send a ruby for the seamstress? What does the swallow do in the seamstress’ house?

Ans :- The seamstress was exhausted from working too much. She was so poor that she couldn’t afford oranges for her sick, thirsty son. The Happy Prince saw them and felt sorry. He sent a ruby to help her. The swallow brought the ruby to her house, placed it on the table, gently fanned the boy’s forehead with its wings, and then flew back to the Happy Prince.
Question 3.
For whom does the prince send the sapphires and why?

Ans: The playwright was very poor and couldn’t afford food or firewood. The Happy Prince sent him a sapphire so he could finish writing a play for the theater director on time. The Prince also sent his second sapphire to a poor girl selling matches. Her matches had fallen into the gutter, and she feared her father would beat her for losing them. The Prince helped her by giving her the sapphire.
